An Erie native, Carl started out in insurance in 1974, as an agent. He then taught at an advanced sales school, and eventually became district sales manager for Mutual of Omaha’s western Pennsylvania branch, based in Pittsburgh. During this time Carl earned his Registered Health Underwriter designation, or RHU. Carl joined Hart, McConahy, & Martz in 1994, and was made partner in 1996. Carl’s first 2 years with the agency were highlighted with over $1,000,000 of new business each year. At the agency, Carl manages the commercial property and casualty department, the employee benefits, and life/health departments. Outside of work, Carl enjoys spending time with his family, boating, fishing, hunting, and skiing.
